006- The Magic of “No”: Freeing up your time and Energy
Send us a message with your thoughts from this episode.
How can saying no be a transformative act of self-care? Join us as we explore the art of navigating the summer social scene while prioritizing your well-being, especially for women in perimenopause.
In this episode:
- The Power of "No" (especially when its not a resounding 'Yes'): It's okay to decline invitations, especially if you're in perimenopause and experiencing hot flashes or fatigue. Saying no allows you to prioritize your well-being and avoid feeling drained.
- Practice Self-Care Strategies: Prioritize sleep (7-9 hours), engage in regular physical activity (even housework counts!), and incorporate relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation. Nourish your body with healthy foods and connect with supportive loved ones.
- Be Honest and Communicate: Be upfront about your energy levels and needs with friends and family. Suggest alternative activities that are lower-key or offer to meet up at a later date.
